Letters carved before paper existed. The Elder Futhark — 24 ancient symbols of the Norse and Germanic worlds, each a living force. Not mere alphabet, but keys to fate, nature, and the cosmos.
For the Norse, Anglo-Saxon, and Germanic peoples, each runic character was a living symbol — a condensed force of nature, fate, or divinity. Odin hung from Yggdrasil for nine nights to discover them; they were not invented but found, primordial forces beneath all of creation.
"I know that I hung on the wind-swept tree, nine full nights, wounded with a spear… I took up the runes, screaming I took them — then I fell back."
— Odin's words, Hávamál (Norse Eddic poem)The Elder Futhark (c. 150–800 CE) is the oldest runic alphabet — 24 characters in three groups of eight called Aetts, each carrying a name, a phonetic value, and a deep cosmological meaning.
Each canvas carries the charge of an ancient symbol — painted with intention on dark grounds so the rune glows like a carving lit from within.
